Truck Shop Manager

Management - Salem, VA - Contracted to Full Time

Now hiring a Truck Shop Manager for an employee-owned company. We are currently seeking candidates for both spray and utility operations. We conduct a variety of operations ranging from forestry spraying to Firefighting/Charters. Ideal candidates should be career minded experienced CDL Class B drivers who are willing to work in a field environment supporting company aircraft. MUST be willing and able to travel throughout the lower 48.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain a fleet of 60+ Wheeled vehicles to include Mack trucks with tanks pickup trucks, box trucks and trailers.
  • Plan coordinate and schedule work in house and external to the company.
  • Perform and oversee routine service and repairs on the vehicles.
  • Order parts and tools as needed.
  • Being on call to assist field crews in unscheduled maintenance through coordinating repairs or repair facilities, delivering replacement vehicles or answering technical questions.
  • Help maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Maintain and calibrate shop tools as needed

Pay: $60,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekends as needed
  • Work Location: Hybrid remote in Salem, VA

Required skills/Abilities:

  • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, hazmat also preferred.
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Must be able to exercise good judgement in a team environment as well as in aircraft operation and safety.
  • Must have problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Active, valid Driver’s License required.
  • High school diploma, or GED required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background/drug and alcohol test prior to start. Will be enrolled in our random drug pool.
