Now hiring an Equipment Coordinator for a fast growing Cable manufacturing company in Milton, FL.

The Equipment Coordinator oversees the organization, maintenance, and utilization of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and related machinery. This role ensures that all equipment is safe, operational, cost-effective, and readily available to meet production demands- while simultaneously minimizing downtime and controlling costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and Manage Equipment Fleet:

  • Track and manage the status, location, and utilization usage of all material handling equipment.
  • Verify that newly acquired equipment meets operational standards.
  • Oversee all equipment rentals and returns, validate specifications, track rental periods, and maintain vendor partnerships.
Assign and Track Equipment:
  • Maintain records of equipment assignments to ensure usage accountability and prevent misuse.
  • Keep accurate and up to date records of service history, repair, costs, rental agreements and compliance documentation.
  • Assist other departments with equipment needs.
Coordinate Maintenance:
  • Schedule and monitor preventative maintenance.
  • oversee minor repairs internally and coordinate major repairs with external providers.
Ensure Safety and Compliance:
  • Monitor adherence to safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Support audits and follow-up actions as needed.
Software and systems:
  • Assist with evaluating, implementing, and maintaining software tools for fleet tracking, maintenance logs, and performance metrics.
Vendor Coordination:
  • Foster strong relationships with equipment suppliers and service vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective support
Support Inventory Control:
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Establish reorder points and support system implementation for tracking and reporting.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations, or in a related field is PREFERRED- (Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment coordination, fleet management, or a similar role
  • Industry-Specific Experience: Experience in manufacturing is highly valued.
Skills:
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA, ANSI, and relevant industry standards. You must be proficient with asset tracking systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, CMMS).
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organization and record-keeping capabilities. Must be able to manage time effectively, while balancing multiple tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy, clarity, and follow through on all tasks and documentation
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, interpersonal skills and written communication skills to negotiate and communicate with vendors for a strong relationship with management skills. Ability to build productive internal relationships to support team success.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze situations and implement effective solutions to improve all equipment rental operations. Identifies opportunities for improvement.


SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.

It is important to know that the typical work hours may vary depending on the plant's operational needs. Below are the general expectations regarding the work schedule:


Standard Hours:

  • Regular Schedule: The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4:30 PM and includes a standard lunch break of 60 minutes while additional short breaks might be scheduled depending on company policy.
  • Job holder might need to attend the night shift to check on production and to ensure night shift activities are being maintained without interruption.
Additional Hours:
  • It may be required to work beyond the standard hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet production deadlines, address urgent issues, or participate in special projects.
  • The job holder should be available on-call to respond to emergencies or critical situations that may arise outside of regular working hours.
  • Flexibility in working hours is expected to accommodate the dynamic nature of plant operations, including shifts in production schedules, maintenance activities, and other operational demands.

Travel requirements:

Travel is required to NJ Headquarters, Customers or Vendors Site, or other manufacturing facilities as needed for this position. The company will provide the necessary booking arrangements in case travel is needed.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The job holder will work in a dynamic and multifaceted environment. The work environment encompasses various aspects of the plant's operations, both in the office and on the production floor. Below are the key elements of the work environment:

Office Environment:

  • Workspace: The job holder will have an office within the plant facility, equipped with necessary office equipment such as a computer, phone, and other administrative tools.
  • Administrative Duties: The office environment is where you will handle planning, reporting, meetings, and strategic decision-making.
Production Floor:
  • Presence: A significant portion of the job holder’s time will be spent on the production floor, overseeing daily operations, and monitoring processes.
  • Conditions: The production floor may have varied conditions including loud noise, fluctuating temperatures, and exposure to dust, fumes, and machinery.
  • Safety Gear: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hard hats, ear protection, and steel-toed boots are required while on the production floor.
Interaction with Staff:
  • Team Leadership: Regular interaction with plant employees, supervisors, and department heads is necessary to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Training and Development: Conducting training sessions, safety meetings, and performance reviews are part of the role.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Regulations: Adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations is critical. The job holder ensures compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Programs: Overseeing and implementing safety programs, conducting safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.
Physical Activity:
  • Mobility: The role requires frequent walking, standing, and movement around the plant. Climbing stairs and accessing various parts of the facility are common activities.
  • Hands-On Involvement: The job holder may occasionally be involved in hands-on tasks, equipment inspections, and troubleshooting.
Technological Environment:
  • Software Tools: Utilization of various manufacturing and management software systems for planning, tracking, and reporting purposes.
  • Innovation: Encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve plant efficiency and productivity.

Drug and Alcohol Policy:

  • Zero Tolerance: Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use in the workplace.
  • Testing: Implement regular drug and alcohol testing as per company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Programs: Provide access to support programs for employees dealing with substance abuse issues.
Dress Code and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
  • Dress Code: Enforce a dress code appropriate for the plant environment.
  • PPE: Ensure all employees wear the required PPE while on the production floor.


PAY:
Starting pay range is $50,000/yr. - $60,000/yr.  (Depending on Experience)
